What We Do

At HTSC, we are here to help you overcome any hand, wrist or arm injury/condition. This could be from an accident, sporting incident, surgery, or just a recurring pain that is starting to impact on your way of life.  We are trained to assess your injury or condition, provide you personalised treatment plan to see you back to good health, or to manage your pain. Treatment could include custom made splint or brace for support to allow the affected part to heal, rehabilitation exercises to build strength and support, therapeutic modalities to ease your pain.

Proving Our Expertise

We love what we do, we love helping people to use their arms and hands the way they want to.  We will touch base with you outside of your appointments to answer any questions you have.  We focus on clear and timely communication with clients and referring professionals.

What to expect for your first consultation?

During your visit, your hand therapist will spend time with you to learn about your condition, how you were injured, the types of treatment you have attempted, your previous level of function, and how your condition is affecting your life. If you had surgery, the therapist would likely have a report from the surgeon. Specific evaluation and measurement may be taken to determine the extent of condition and to track your progress if applicable. Doing these specialised evaluations will help to determine the most appropriate treatment for you to enhance your recovery.

The rehabilitation process involves a variety of skilled techniques. The hand therapist may perform some of these techniques as appropriate:

The hand therapist has advanced training in the use of various modalities to help reduce pain and swelling, including:

Other modalities that can assist with muscle re-education, e.g. electrical stimulation
